This is a Single Lift & Store storage bed that lifts to give access to the storage area under the mattress. Lifting the mattress is assisted with two shocks on the sides of the bed giving you access to over 17 cu ft of storage space under your mattress. It's composed of 1" industrial particle board for the box and 3/4" industrial particle board for the top for dryer climates or 3/4" plywood, for the box and top, for higher humidity climates.
Lifting the bed top is aided with 2 gas spring pistons, 1 located on each side making it easy enough for anyone but your youngest kids to get into, so it's recommended that you put a lock on it to child proof and burglar proof it. They'll never get to your stuff while your in bed!
